Danny Wilson admits he is almost certain of his starting line-up for Saturday’s League One play-off final against Millwall.

Injury fears over goalkeeper David Lucas and 29-goal Billy Paynter were alleviated earlier this week when the pair took part in training, while full-back Alan Sheehan was due to return to training today following a pelvic problem.

Wilson said he could still make the odd alteration, but that he is pretty confident of which 11 players will take to the Wembley pitch.

“I know exactly what is in my mind,” he said. “I will maybe tweak one or two positions and look at different things, but I’ve got a fair idea of what will happen.

“We’re obviously hoping that nothing goes wrong in midweek, but we have a game plan and know who the certain individuals within that framework will be. It may change slightly as we go along, but not a great deal.”

Due to good fortune with injuries and suspensions Swindon’s side has been largely settled this season, and Wilson believes that has been a key factor behind their push for promotion.

“The consistency of the line-up has probably got us where we are because we’ve then been consistent in results,” he said, “You don’t want to keep chopping and changing if you can help it. There’s going to be a time when you have to make changes for certain reasons and it’s not always because you are winning games. But the fact that we have had a steady side and a settled side has helped each other.

“The players have warmed to each others’ game and understood each other. That is vital.”
