Struggling Swindon Supermarine suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat at home to fellow relegation candidates Redditch United last night.
Marine needed a win to suck the Worcestershire side into the depths of the battle to avoid relegation from the Southern Premier, but two second half goals proved their undoing at the Webbs Wood Stadium.
After 52 minutes, midfielder Lee Osbourne found the net to give the visitors the lead, and only six minutes later striker Luke Benbow doubled their tally and sealed which eventually sealed the win for former Birmingham midfielder Graham Hyde’s side.
Defeat leaves Marine seven points adrift of the Reds who occupy the place just above the drop zone, with 10 vital fixtures remaining.
