JOHN Fisher’s aversion to Monday night football was fully justified as his Shrivenham side were beaten 6-1 at Binfield in the Hellenic Premier Division.
The two sides were level at 1-1 as half time approached, with Aaron Maximen netting for Shrivvy.
But the hosts scored a contentious goal before the break to turn the game - which manager Fisher insisted was “blatantly offside”.
It was a third match in as many days for some Shrivenham players and the weary legs were evident as the visitors folded in the second half.
Fisher said: “They were given a penalty which the lads insist was the wrong decision and after that the floodgates opened, but it was to be expected really - there were some tired legs out there.”
In tonight’s Hellenic Prem action, Fairford entertain Holyport and Highworth trek to Kidlington. Ciren Dev host New College in Division One West.
