STEVE Davis has highlighted Paul Benson as the player Crewe must keep quiet when they take on Swindon tomorrow.

The Railwaymen head into the game determined to keep their unbeaten run going after six games without defeat moved them to within four points of the play-off places.

Benson is arguably the most in form striker in League Two at the moment, with seven goals from his last eight games.

The 32-year-old has thrived on the service of Matt Ritchie and Luke Rooney and the arrival of Lee Holmes on loan from Southampton earlier this week will be music to his ears.

Davis watched Swindon’s narrow 1-0 win over Cheltenham last week and he is of the opinion that only Benson was the difference between the two sides.

“There was not much in the game at Cheltenham, just clinical finishing proved the difference,” he said.

“Paul Benson is a striker we know all about and one we have to watch out for, he has been very good recently and is a danger.

“But we are unbeaten in six and we will try to set ourselves up to win the game rather than defend and let them throw everything at us.”

Davis is also looking forward to pitting his wits against Di Canio, who he believes has been great for raising the profile of League Two.

“Paolo has got them playing good football and he has obviously had finances to do that,” he added. “They have been very consistent and have just got better and better.

"He is a passionate guy and comes across as a good guy as well in his interviews. He may shout and wave his arms around on the touchline but that is the way he is and there is nothing wrong in that.

“He wants to win and he has only been good for the league.

"He has done really well this season and established a strong squad who play good football. It is a game everyone is looking forward to this weekend.”
