Highworth Town Ladies clinched the Wiltshire County Women’s & Girls’ League with a dramatic 4-2 home win over Swindon Spitfires Reserves.

Jess Roffey scored all four goals as Highworth ensured their 100 per cent win record stayed intact, giving them the title in their first season at senior level.

Two minutes in, Becka Ash played in Roffey and she slipped to ball past the goalkeeper to make it 1-0.

Spits carved out an equaliser but not long into the second half, Roffey fired home a wonder-strike from a seemingly impossible angle.

However, with five minutes to go, Spits equalised with a long-range effort.

The drama was not over, as Roffey charged in behind the defence and toe-poked the ball just over the line.

Roffey was not done there, lifting the ball over the goalkeeper in the final minute to put the polish on victory.

Meanwhile, Swindon Spitfires set up a Wiltshire Cup final with Swindon Town after beating Wootton Bassett 2-1 in the semis.

Spits broke the deadlock on 32 minutes when Debbie Rose flicked the ball over her marker and lobbed advancing custodian Leah Blanchard.

The equaliser arrived 11 minutes after the break as Madeline Elliott who side-stepped her marker and curled past Julia Caton.

However, parity was only maintained for five minutes. Emily Sparkes’ cross picked out Rose and she slotted under Blanchard.

The Under 16s lost 4-2 to Swindon Town Under 16s with the latter side’s scorers being Pia Donaldson (3) and Michaela Vitale (pen).

Spitfires Under 15s were beaten 6-3 at Chinnor.

Spits were a player short and were 6-0 down at the break, but two minutes into the second period, Emma Adams played in Niamh Montague who slotted home.

Moments later Montague crossed for Hayley Shipp to shoot across the keeper, and three minutes from time Shipp stabbed a Montague corner into the net.

The Under 10s were held to a 1-1 draw by Oxford City while the Under 12s drew 2-2 at Tower Hill.

The Under 13s secured a 3-0 win over Stonesfield Strikers, but the injury-ravaged Under 16s lost 4-2 to Swindon Town.

Elsewhere, Swindon Town Ladies subjected Havant & Waterlooville to their first league defeat of the season after triumphing 4-1.

Alison Witts opened the scoring after good work by Hayley Huckin but Havant equalised just before half time.

In the second period Michelle Rich netted from long-range before Havant had a player sent off for kicking out at Laura Stallard.

Substitute Kirsty Shell scored on her second touch to make it 3-1 and she then converted a penalty after Georgia Walters was brought down.
