ALAN Connell’s goal on his return to the side has given Swindon Town a 1-0 half time advantage over promotion rivals Torquay United.
The striker turned in Matt Ritchie’s corner after half an hour for the game’s opening goal, following a prolonged spell of pressure.
Other than Connell’s goal Town have been restricted to long range efforts, with Rene Howe and Eunan O’Kane looking dangerous for the visitors.

24mins: Connell continues to be the dangerman for the home side, and his good work sends Town forward, but Ritchie’s shot goes wide. Town want a corner, but the referee says no.
25mins: Eunan O’Kane’s movement is causing problems for the make-shift pairing of Alan McCormack and Oliver Risser, and the forward fires a warning sign straight at Foderingham.
33mins: GOAL Swindon Town 1 Torquay United CONNELL Town win another corner after a good series of pressure, and Connell manages to turn in Matt Ritchie’s cross to give Town the lead.
44mins:Howe escapes down the left hand side after an error from Risser, but his pull-back is dealt with by Simon Ferry.
45mins: Town go straight down the other end and threaten, but Connell can only steer Ritchie’s cross wide.
