GOALS from Alan Connell and Oliver Risser were enough for Swindon Town to beat promotion rivals Torquay 2-0 at the Country Ground tonight.

Both goals came from Matt Ritchie corners, with Connell guiding home the first just after the half hour, before a bullet header from Risser doubled the advantage after the break.

Town were never really troubled and had their visitors at arm's length throughout, although Rene Howe and Eunan O’Kane occasionally caused problems.

The victory sees Town extend their lead at the top of League Two to seven points with nine games remaining, as they head to Wembley on Sunday for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final.
