SWINDON Town were held to a goalless draw at home to Bristol Rovers this afternoon.

Town missed a host of chances in a game they dominated, and could not break down a Rovers side seemingly happy to leave the County Ground with a point.

Alan Connell missed Town’s biggest chance of the afternoon five minutes before half time, after controlling Matt Ritchie’s driven cross before hitting the cross bar.

Ronan Murray, Lee Holmes, Simon Ferry and Paul Benson all had chances to win it for Town, but could not beat visiting keeper Scott Bevan.

Rovers rarely threatened during the 90 minutes, but with time running out both Matt Harrold and Andy Dorman had good chances.

The point leaves Town two points ahead of second placed Torquay but with two games in hand.
