SWINDON Town's under-18s produced one of their best performances of the season but only had a point to show for it as Paul Bodin's side were held to a 2-2 draw by Bournemouth on Saturday.

In-form striker Miles Storey opened the scoring after 10 minutes and Town were well on top, but they found the Cherries' keeper in superb form.

Bournemouth equalised 10 minutes before the break but Storey struck again soon after to give the Robins the lead at half time.

Swindon continued to be frustrated by the Bournemouth keeper after the break and the visitors earned a share of the spoils when they again equalised in 67th minute.

“I am delighted with the performance and the way they played from start to finish," said Bodin. “We had three or four really good chances but their goalkeeper was unbelievable.

“We conceded but picked ourselves up and Miles got another one and I thought we would win comfortably and their manager said if we won 8-2 it would have been a fair result.”

Storey has been insatiable this season and Bodin has been pleased with his development over the course of the last year.

"Miles has improved his all round game and his finishing is impressive," he added.

“But he is an instinctive player and has certainly done well this season."

Swindon's hopes of claiming a fourth successive Youth Alliance League title look unlikely, with Plymouth, who are two points ahead of Town, firmly in the driving seat.
