EVERY game between now and the end of the season is a massive one for Swindon and Simon Ferry, no matter who the opposition is.

The Robins head to lowly Barnet tonight looking to pick up three points that will strengthen their hold on first place in League Two.

The Bees are a side fighting for their lives at the moment, with just one win since the end of January having seen them drop perilously close to the relegation zone.

At this stage of the season, most teams are either fighting to be involved in the mix for promotion or trying to avoid the dreaded drop.

Consequently, Ferry knows that Town must take each and every one of their remaining eight opponents seriously until promotion is secured.

“Every game now is a massive game,” said the midfielder. “We are getting closer to going up and so the boys are really excited.

“We have beaten Barnet twice and drawn once at their place but they are fighting to stay up so both teams have something to play for so it should make for a great game.

“A win tonight would be great because to go into Friday’s game with a five point gap would mean it doesn’t matter whatever happens at the weekend in other games, we will still be top and if we win both games it will probably put us out of sight.

“The boys are in a good mood and we will go to Barnet to try and win the game.”

It perhaps says just how good Town have been this season that players and fans alike were disappointed with the goalless draw with Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

It was the first time that Swindon have failed to win a league game on home soil since the end of October but, such is the belief in the team, that they go into every game confident of claiming victory.

“We want to win every game and in the dressing room after the Bristol Rovers game the boys had their heads down because they wanted to win,” added Ferry.

“But the gaffer came in and told us to get our heads up because he felt we played really well. You cannot win every game and sometimes it goes against you, but the effort was spot on.”

Ferry has cemented himself as one of the first names on the Swindon teamsheet at the moment.

However, the arrival of John Bostock means Town possess another midfielder who plays in a similar style, and Ferry knows it would be foolish to take anything for granted.

“I know it can change at any time because we have good players here,” he said.

“We have some very good players here in a very good squad and good numbers so that is all that is important.”
