SWINDON head into the break level with Morecambe as neither side were able to find an opening in a scrappy first half
Jay McEveley prevented Lewis Alessandra from opening the scoring inside the first couple of minutes with a well-timed challenge but other than that, chances were few and far between.
Simon Ferry shot over the bar for Town while Craig Curran did likewise for the home side
Here are the key moments from the first half:
5 mins: Morecambe come very close to taking the lead as Lewis Alessandra runs through on goal but Jay McEveley superbly recovered to poke the ball out for a corner.
24 mins: After that early chance there was very little action during a scrappy period of play before Craig Curran volleyed harmlessly wide for the home side.
36 mins:Town continued to struggle to create anything in the final third as a Jay McEveley free kick into the area came to nothing, with the Morecambe defence able to clear.
39 mins: Luke Rooney’s passing has been poor and it is hardly surprising when Paolo Di Canio opts to bring him off just before the break, bringing on Lee Holmes in his place.
40 mins: Simon Ferry receives the ball just outside the area as Morecambe fail to properly clear a Holmes ball into the box, but the Scot shoots over the bar.
