AIDY Boothroyd is eyeing a shock win at Swindon today as the Northampton boss called upon his players to give their all in the remaining games and ensure a difficult season ends on a high.

The Cobblers were in real danger of dropping out of the Football League before an upturn in form recently looks to have done enough to ensure they will be in League Two next season.

Just one defeat in their last eight games has helped to move them nine points clear of the relegation zone and the chances of them dropping back into trouble at this stage of the campaign are highly unlikely.

Consequently, thoughts are already being focussed on next season and Boothroyd believes there will be no better way to show that they will mean business in the next campaign by becoming the first side this year to beat Town in the league at the County Ground.

“We want to give a good account of ourselves against the team who are top of the league and see if we can come away from the game with something,” said the former Watford boss.

“When we played them at our ground I thought we were a bit unfortunate not to get anything and it will be another really good test for us.

“I want us to finish the season on a high and for our supporters to know that we mean business. I want us to finish strongly and to beat league positions and points totals from previous seasons.

“We have got our own targets to try and reach and we want to try and get as many points as possible from our remaining games.”

Boothroyd has hinted that he could make changes to the side that beat Oxford United on Friday and give some of those who have not been involved recently a chance to impress.

“It's a squad game and the lads that came on against Oxford did really well,” he added.

“Everyone has got a part to play and knowing that you have got players on the bench who can come on and change a game gives you a massive boost.”
