THERE were goals galore in the Swindon & District League Premier Division with no less than 48 goals scored in seven games.
Queensfield thumped visitors Lower Stratton 9-0 courtesy of efforts from Blaine Fitzgerald (5), Danny Peoples, Liam Gooch, Mikey Jack and Calvin Spencer.
Pembroke won 4-2 against visiting Highworth Town A as Jake Johnson (2), Chris Wood and Mark Stile took the plaudits.
Gareth Walton (5), Neil Herring (3) and Rob Curtis (2) supplied the all-important goals as VBA Rangers battered Korr Services 10-2.
Michael Lloyd scored twice for Korr.
Aaron Barton put Fratellos 1-0 up against Spectrum after a quarter of an hour, and later in the half a second from Barton and a Dave Slattery penalty made it 3-0 at half time.
Slattery and Steve Davies netted for Fratellos after the break while Spectrum scored a couple of their own.
Marshall cruised to a 6-0 win against Lower Stratton, while Wayne Presley and Ian Bevan scored for DJC Marlborough in their 3-2 defeat to Auto Engine Tune Harlequin.
Old Town took the lead early in the second half against Chiseldon through Marcus Popowiczi, but a header and a penalty won it for Chiseldon. Dave Pridday and Yan Koenig were Chiseldon’s scorers.
- Wroughton edged out hosts Southbrook in a 3-2 thriller in the Wiltshire Premier.
Purton Reserves battered Amesbury 7-0 on the road while Chippenham Youth beat Marlborough 3-0 and Wilts Calne Town lost 1-0 at Ludgershall.
Meanwhile, Box Rovers wrapped up the Division One title with a thumping 4-1 victory at Chippenham Youth Reserves.
Madames ensured that Old Town could not win the league by holding them to a 1-1 draw.
Elsewhere Sanford Reserves lost 1-0 at Ashton Keynes while Marlborough Reserves drew 2-2 with Ramsbury.
- SHRIVENHAM A thumped beleaguered Drayton Reserves 9-1 in Division Three of the North Berks League.
Josh Fowler hit a hat-trick and Adam Rudman and Mark Loveridge bagged a brace apiece. Luke Coxhead and Steve Leighfield also scored, while Liam Hicks replied for Drayton.
Coleshill were sunk 3-0 by promotion-chasing Wantage with James Bowsher, Aiden Necchi-Ghiri and Paris Cleary on the scoresheet.
In Division Four West, a James Glock goal was in vain as Coleshill United Reserves were crushed 10-1 by Childrey United Reserves.
- THERE were very few games in the Swindon Sunday League with most of the games in the lower divisions.
Division Three table toppers Fox & Hounds made it 14 consecutive wins with an 8-1 success against Pig on the Hill. On target for Fox was Steven May (3), Jamie Sheppard (3), Lee Moulton and Nick Boza In Division Two, Dorcan Old Boys crushed Regent 6-1, while Olympic Roofing continue to cruise at the top of the standings in Division Five after their 6-1 win at Nationwide Pavilion.
FC Walcot have strolled to the league title in Division Six and were given a home walkover in their game against Royal Swindon at the weekend.
In Division Seven, Swindon United and Gorsehill Borough played out a 10-goal thriller, with United winning 6-4.
Urban Allstars’ title hopes suffered a blow as they lost 2-0 at Wroughton.
- SWINDON Spitfires Ladies took a huge step towards league safety with a 3-1 win at mid-table Forest Green Rovers reserves.
After 10 minutes they went in front when Jenna Blake broke clear of the defence and lobbed keeper Emily Towle.
Blake doubled the advantage on 26 minutes and Spitfires could have had more before the break, with Catt Baird hitting the side netting and then fizzing a cross-shot across goal.
Forest Green reduced the deficit on 50 minutes but 12 minutes later it was 3-1, as Lyndsey Welsh broke from midfield and her cross-shot deflected into the net.
- GREENMEADOW secured top spot in Under 9 Division 1 with a 1-0 victory over Wootton Bassett in the North Wilts Youth League.
They made sure of the title after captain Rowan Doyle scored from the penalty spot in the second half.
In Under 11 Division 3, Highworth Town beat Wootton Bassett 4-2 courtesy of Leon Summers and Max Morland and a Wootton Bassett own goal.
The North Wilts League will run a Euro 2012 mini soccer festival of football at the County Ground on April 29.
Some 25 teams are to take part and each entry will be allocated a Euro 2012 side.
Squads will consist of eight players and each match will be a five versus five format. and 10 minutes each way.
An entry fee is payable for all spectators at the cost of £3.50 per adult and £1.50 per child under 12 years of age. Entry will include a festival programme. Refreshments will be available.
