FRATELLOS opened up an eight-point lead at the top of the Swindon & District League Premier Division after brushing aside Korr Services 8-1.

At half time Fratellos were 5-1 up and added three more in the second period to run out comfortable winners.

Scoring for the victors were Bradley Clarke (3), Dave Slattery (2), Kyle Romain, Mark Belcher and Joe Deyager. Shane Watson got Korr’s consolation.

Fratellos went eight points clear at the summit after second-placed Village Inn slipped to a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Auto Engine Tune Harlequin.

The league as a whole saw an average of more than seven goals in each game, and Chiseldon Reserves made a considerable contribution to that as they annihilated Swindon Spitfires 15-0.

Chiseldon were a relatively modest 5-0 up at the break but turned the screw in the second half.

Netting for Chiseldon were Dave Pridday, who hit a four-timer, Dan Cook (3), Morgan Vaughan (3), Matt Clarke, Dean Darbourne, Vince Sejournant, Jon Davis and Dan Vowels.

VBA Rangers cruised to a 5-1 win at Highworth Town A as they remained third in the table, while DJC Marlborough won at Spectrum by the same scoreline.

Michael Burns hit a hat-trick while Antony Duckett and Wayne Presley also registered.

Adam Jack (4) and Blaine Fitzgerald (2) were on the scoresheet for Queensfield in their 6-1 victory at Marshall.

Pembroke and Old Town shared a 1-1 draw with Jamie Bane converting for the latter side.
