TOWN boss Paolo Di Canio admitted his side were second best and questioned the professionalism of his players following Swindon’s 2-1 defeat at Aldershot tonight.

Goals from home strikers Guy Madjo and Danny Hylton either side of a Paul Caddis penalty did the damage, on a night when a point would have rubber stamped Town’s return to League One.

But Di Canio accused his players of beginning the celebrations too early, and believes a late night drinking session on Saturday played a big part in tonight’s defeat.

“A few days ago they did something which was a habit last year, and maybe it came back,” he said. “We still have the same habit, and for as long as I am here I will do everything for change.

“Our position has put a few of our players in a position to think the job was done, and to go out and have more drink.

“I told them I would defend them for my life if they behave well, but if they do not behave well and respect the shirt and the fans and the club, they will be not under me.”
