CAPTAIN Paul Caddis admitted the better side won as Town crashed to a 2-1 defeat at Aldershot last night.
Goals from Guy Madjo and Danny Hylton did the damage as Town were guilty of two defensive slips, one in either half.
Caddis scored a penalty to drag Town back into the game, but the Scot said they were second best physically.
“You have to give all the credit to Aldershot because they did what they needed to do and didn’t give us anything to work with and were the better side physically.
“It is something we can not do anything about and we will move on and do what we need to do.
“I think I could have done more because my positioning was off and I was not happy. Aden and Alan have been brilliant all year and you can not blame them.”
Caddis admitted his side could have gone on to win the game following his penalty which levelled things, but said they didn’t take their chances well enough.
“The penalty gave us some momentum which was very important and we were on top, but we couldn’t go on and do it. We had chances but couldn’t make them count.
“This is one game and these things happen sometimes when you are top of the league.
“The atmosphere in the dressing room was not great but we know what we have to do.
“We want to win all of our games now to win the league in style, but you see so often that teams do everything they can to get over the line, and sometimes struggle.
“It is hard to do, but we have to stop worrying about promotion because that is done I think.
“We want to win the title, and we did not do that tonight but we will pick ourselves up now and go again.”
