CAPTAIN Paul Caddis is convinced the Swindon squad will bounce back from manager Paolo Di Canio’s criticism and secure promotion at Gillingham tomorrow.
Town need only a point at Priestfield to make sure of their place in League One, while three could secure the League Two title.
Di Canio criticised some of his player’s lack of professionalism following defeat at Aldershot on Tuesday night, but Caddis believes the players will use that to spur them on.
“The players were fine about it once we had heard what he said,” Caddis said. “He likes to express his views and he has done that a few times now and we have always seemed to bounce back from it.
“He was disappointed after the Aldershot game but so were we, and we did not need him to tell us that it was not good enough.
“But now our focus is Gillingham, and we all just want to go out there and first secure promotion, and then if results go our way the title too.
“We know it is in our hands, and we are confident of three points. But if we can not quite do that the very least we need to do is take a point, which will mean we can wrap it up in front of our fans at home to Port Vale.
“We do not mind when we win it, but it would be great if we could do it in front of our fans at home because they have been brilliant all year.”
