PAOLO Di Canio has told his Swindon Town side not to take it easy as they travel to Bradford for the final game of the season.
Town wrapped up the league title last weekend with a 5-0 victory at home to Port Vale, but Di Canio has still set his players targets for their visit to Valley Parade.
“This is the last game we will play and we know what has happened and we want to finish well,” he said. “I have been watching my players in training because it is important to put in a professional performance because we want to win.
“If we win we will win 30 games in the season and if we can keep a clean sheet we will have 26 games without conceding a goal to the opponent, and if we can score a few goals we could make ourselves the best attacking team in the division, as well as the best defensive team in the division.
“For many reasons we want to finish well and most importantly is that we have sold out for our fans to 1,200.”
The Town manager will also consider giving a number of his fringe players a chance.
“I have some players who did not play often during the season, and may want to prove to me that I was wrong or that they can come for the future,” he said.
“We will change some things, not many things, but something, because it is obvious I have much of my team is a group of leads with good motivation and they even want to win in a five-a-side.”
Bradford have endured a tough season and currently sit 18th in the League Two table, but Di Canio is not expecting them to roll over.
“They have a big disappointment this season and the manager is under pressure because the fans don’t like him too much,” he said.
“But he will want to finish and leave a good memory from the last game at home, and to beat the champions would be an extra satisfaction.
“They will not want to finish badly, so they have many reasons to win, just like we do.
“We had a fantastic season and they had a bad season, but that doesn’t mean the game will be easy so we have to be careful.
“It will be 50/50 I think so we have to play well.”
