BRADFORD manager Phil Parkinson believes too much attention is paid to how much money has been spent at the County Ground this season.
Parkinson is impressed with how Di Canio has adapted to management in his first campaign in the dugout, and believes the Italian deserves all the praise he is getting for guiding Swindon to the League Two title.
“Swindon have invested well in the squad throughout the season, and you just need to look at the players they’ve brought in and you can see they have continually improved as they progressed,” he said.
“They have a good selection of strikers and they’ve done well for them so far.
“But it doesn’t matter what budget you’ve had, you still have got to get teams over that finishing line and they’ve done that, so credit has to go to them for that.
“Paolo has also been great, he’s a character and well done to him, but I don’t know him and I have never spoken to him in my life.
“He is a big name, an exceptional player and so far he’s proved to be a good manager.
The two sides drew 0-0 at the County Ground in October, and Parkinson knows his side need to produce more of the same to get anything out of tomorrow’s game.
“We went down there and were excellent. Had ten men in second half but we played really well,” he said.
“We know the discipline of our team and the shape when we haven’t got the ball will have to be at its best if we are going to get anything.”
