SWINDON captain Liam Tucker says that his side will be looking to make up for the lowest point of their season when they take on Rockhampton tomorrow.
The County Ground side’s successful summer in the Glos/Wilts Division continued last weekend as Tucker’s men cruised to a comfortable six-wicket win over Westbury and this Saturday, Swindon could leapfrog Rockhampton into second in the table with victory over their Gloucestershire opponents.
On June 28, Swindon were skittled for just 127 as they slipped to a disappointing eight-wicket defeat in the reverse fixture at the Boundary Field and Tucker hopes that his side can give Rockhampton a true taste of their abilities this time around.
“We’re right in the battle for second place now,” said the Swindon skipper.
“Rockhampton are there right now and we’ve also got a game against Biddestone to come – they’re another side that are in with a shout of second, along with Warminster.
“We lost three of our first five but we’ve been on a pretty decent run since then, only losing to Lechlade and Rockhampton.
“I think that loss to Rockhampton was our most disappointing result of the season because we just didn’t perform at all on the day.
“We know what to expect from them because they’ve got pretty much the same players that they’ve always had when we’ve played them at this level.
“We want to try and put things right this time and use our skills to show them what we’re about.”
In the Premier Two division, Goatacre are away to Cheltenham.
