NATIONWIDE provided a shock in the Swindon League by defeating Civil Service in Division One.

Nick Clarke's 35 enabled Nationwide to post 113-4 and, in reply, Civil Service fell just short at 106 all out despite Andy Mildenhall's valiant 45.

Fellow strugglers Wanborough almost followed suit, only to lose out to Nalgo by three wickets with a ball to spare, Shoaib Rahman's 51 not out being decisive.

Shrivenham's challenge for the Division Two title continued, after they beat Nalgo 3rd by 121 runs. Mark Whale plundered 39 and Dan Lloyd 35 in a huge total of 161-5.

Nalgo offered little resistance, crashing to 40 all out in five overs.

A more competitive affair saw New Generation edge out Wroughton by one wicket with two balls to spare.

Probably the surprise result came in Division Three when Minety easily beat leaders Swindon 3rd by four wickets.

Only young Jonathan Sore with 25 not out offered resistance as Swindon managed just 61-5 and Tony Gardner's 25 not out saw Minety home.

There were no surprises in Division Four as Shrivenham 2nd beat Wanborough 2nd by 23 runs and Woodlands overcame Motorola by three wickets.
