COASTAL Cobras put in a dominant performance to win the Swindon Indoor Cricket League Knock Out Cup against Nalgo Extras on Sunday.
In truth the final fell below expectations as Extras were unable to recover from losing their influential opener off the very first ball of the match.
Having struggled to 33 for two from half of their 10 overs, they could only post 68 for four, despite Mo Beale's 30 not out.
In reply Cobras were never out of second gear as they cruised home in the seventh over for the loss of just two wickets, Sanjay Chauhan top scoring with 25 not out.
The best game of the day proved to be the second semi-final in which Extras defeated Swindon 1sts by 7 runs.
Swindon conceded a crucial 39 extras and Prashant Joshi contributed 30 not out as Extras set an exacting total of 123 for three.
Despite having all their wickets intact at the half way stage, Swindon had only scored 50 runs and an exacting target of 75 from their final five overs proved just too daunting for Swindon's middle order.
In the other semi-final Cobra's out-gunned Wanborough, defeating them by 48 runs with Kami Shah top scoring with 35 not out.
Chasing 144 to win was always likely to be a tall order and so it proved as Wanborough could muster only 95 for three, Tom Clinning 26 not out.
