LECHLADE captain Paul Godding is confident Rahul Dhyani can continue his superb start to life in the club’s first team when they travel to Spye Park this weekend.
The young bowler made his debut in Lechlade’s seven wicket victory over Marlborough last weekend, and performed well with the ball as he took 3-48.
Godding will give the youngster another chance to impress tomorrow, and backed him and the other bowlers to perform well.
“Rahul’s performance was a great reward for a young man who trains hard and has a great attitude towards the game and the club,” he said.
“The bowling last week was a great improvement on the opening week and restricting a very capable Marlborough side to 210 in 50 overs was a good all round bowling performance.
“I am confident that the bowling unit will only continue to improve as the ground conditions become more favourable to our bowling strengths.”
Godding is also pleased with the way his side’s batsmen have started the season, especially Arran Dickinson who joined the club from Marlborough.
“Our new batting line up looks to be in great form and performing well together as a unit,” he said.
“Arran Dickinson is in a rich vein of form, scoring two not out scores of 108 and 70 so far this season, and looks to have been a great acquisition for us.
“Adrian Stenner also looks to be in great form as well, and so have the other new boys Adam Clatworthy and Paul Loxton, who together with Alistair Killham have all chipped in with good supportive innings so far.”
