CHIPPENHAM's WEPL Premier One status will be decided on the final day after a 30-run loss to Taunton Deane at the weekend left them fighting to stay up.
The Wiltshire side won the toss on their travels and opted to field against a Taunton Deane outfit which also needed a win to fuel its own survival aspirations.
Robert Woodman faced the agony of being run out by Chippenham's Oliver Price on 99, while only captain Jamie Stephens (52*) passed 30 for the hosts as they set 280 to win.
In reply, Ollie Meadows was trapped LBW for a duck, before Price suffered the same fate having made 71.
WJ Rowe (37) and Charlie Slade (41) chipped in for the visitors, but they were ultimately bowled out 10 balls before the end and 30 runs shy of their target.
Chippenham welcome equally-out-of-form Thornbury to Hardenhuish Park next weekend in a game which could see the loser relegated.
Meanwhile, Potterne recovered from their ECB Club Championship semi-final defeat by beating Thornbury by five wickets.
Jack Taylor (103) and Mark Lezar (112) scored the majority of Thornbury's 285 runs, with Chris Aubrey taking 6-48 with the ball.
Potterne won relatively comfortably, though, after Wesley Coulentianos blasted an astounding 146 not out from 141 balls.
In WEPL Premier Two Gloucestershire-Wiltshire, Goatacre's hopes of promotion appear to be over despite a one-wicket win at home to Stroud.
Due to their defeat to Frocester last week, Goatacre can realistically only finish second.
Meanwhile, Warminster are in danger of being relegated after a two-wicket defeat away at Marshfield.
Corsham beat Corse & Staunton by 78 runs, while Cheltenham hammered Burbage & Easton Royal by 200 runs.
In WEPL Wiltshire, Royal Wootton Bassett are on the brink of lifting the title following their 62-run victory away at Corsham seconds.
Bassett can confirm their title with four points at home to Potterne seconds on Saturday.
Elsewhere, there were wins for Potterne seconds, Trowbridge, and Biddestone at the weekend.
