Wootton Bassett Ladies 1sts lost 4-1 at home to Chippenham 1sts in Premier Two.
Chippenham scored first, on the break, and Wootton Bassett equalised from a short corner, when Helen Siviter's pass was driven in, at a tight angle, by player of the match Katy Cox.
Within a minute, Chippenham restored their lead, and by half-time they were 3-1 up.
Chippenham's fine teamwork split Bassett's defence to add a fourth goal in the second half, and although the home side gave their best display in the last 20 minutes of the game, all their efforts were thwarted On Saturday, Bassett will play Yate & South Glos, at home, 11.30am.
n Bassett 2nds were defeated 2-0 by Bretforton at home, in Severn One.
After a goalless first half, Bretforton seized the advantage with two goals in the final 10 minutes of the game. Rachael Fairbanks was player of the match.
On Saturday, Bassett 2nds will play Hereford 2nds, away.
Bassett 3rds secured three valuable points in their 6-0 home victory over a depleted Stroud 2nds in Severn Three.
Bassett were 3-0 up at half-time and doubled their tally in the second half, thanks to player of the match Jenny Jones' fourth hat-trick of the season. Other scorers were Abby Iles, Sophia Legg and Jenny Mumford. This weekend the 3rds are at home to Wotton-under-Edge, 10am.
