Broome Manor's Miles Mackman was the leading Wiltshire player in the 72-hole West of England Open Amateur Stroke-play Championship at Royal North Devon.
He finished 26th on 298, ten over par for the 6,665-yard Westward Ho links and 15 behind the winner, David Horsey, from Styal, Cheshire.
Mackman, the West of England match-play champion, returned rounds of 76, 75, 73 and 74.
He was one of only three Wiltshire players to make the 36-hole cut of 152. The other two, Marlborough teenager Sam Matton and Mark Searle, the South Western Counties champion from High Post, were 36th and 37th respectively with 306.
BARRY Sandry, the Broome Manor professional, teamed up with his younger son, scratch-man Paul, to finish second in the 36-hole Burford Pro-Am.
The Sandrys, who were playing together in the tournament for the second time, returned a two-round score of one under par 141, made up of cards of 72 and 69.
They finished two strokes behind the winners, West Berks pro Paul Simpson and Burford amateur Nicky Wickens.
"I was proud of the old man. He still plays some good golf," said Paul, 23.
Barry, a former European Seniors' Tour player and six-times Hills, Wiltshire professional champion, also came second in the Burford tournament with his elder son, current Hills Wiltshire champion Mark, during his amateur days at the Manor.
Nick Phillips, playing off 15 handicap, won Marlborough's King John Medal on a countback after a tie on five under par net 67 with Gerald White (14). Andy Young (6) was third with 68. Ex-England schoolboys' cap Paul Green (1) shot the best gross of 71.
Paul Riley won the St Johns Cup at Ogbourne Downs with a stableford score of 43 points playing off 23 handicap.

Eight handicap Andy Murgatroyd recorded both the best gross and nett scores in Ogbourne's May Wednesday medal. He shot a round of one over par 72 for a nett 64 and a four-stroke winning margin over Stuart Morris (5). Karl Little (16) was third with 69.
eight-handicapper M Hart had the best nett score of nine under par 62 in Broome Manor's May Sunday medal. It gave him a five-stroke victory in Division 1 (0-15) over D Pearce (11). C Harrison (2) was third with 69. N Styles (24) won Division 2 (16-28) with nett 72, four ahead of M Milsom (17).

North Wilts defeated Chippenham 3-1 in their opening Wiltshire League match at Chippenham.Roger Clack and Tim King won 1 up; Brian Strang and Garry Slade halved; Gary Watts and Ben Giles won 3 up; Graham Harvey and Mark Sheppard halved.
The Crown Commissioners Salver at North Wilts was won by J Gale with 41 stableford points. M E Sheppard was second with 40 and C Taylor third with 36.
