All roads lead to Ascot next week as the Berkshire venue opens its doors for their "pre-opening day" to salute their spectacular redevelopment.
Although the official opening of the racecourse by the Queen will take place on June 20 the first day of Royal Ascot 2006 a select few will get an insight into the new facilities the course has to offer.
Racing on Saturday is set to commence at the rather early time of 12.50pm with the McGee Group Conditions Stakes.
The six-race card, in which three races will be screened live on the BBC, moves up the gears 30 minutes later with the Listed Bovis Homes Buckhouns Stakes and the feature totesport Victoria Cup is due off at 2.20pm.
Away from the razzmatazz at Ascot, Haydock plays host to a great afternoon of sport.
The West Properties Sandy Lane Stakes and the EBF Joan Westbrook Pinnacle Stakes should result in exciting finishes, but the £100,000 totesport Silver Bowl undoubtedly takes top-billing.
Home Affairs, trained by Sir Michael Stoute, won the one-mile test last year under Richard Hughes.
Meanwhile, there is also a decent card at Newmarket on Saturday, with two listed races in the Fairway Stakes and the Cheveley Park Stud King Charles II Stakes.
Goodwood will also hope to hit the ground running with an intriguing three-day meeting from Wednesday to Friday with lots of prize money and four Listed races up for grabs.
The Curragh also unveils a weekend of top-notch fare with the Irish 2000 Guineas on the Saturday and the 1000 Guineas and the Tattersalls Gold Cup, won last year by Grey Swallow, on the Sunday card.
