EVEN the sandwiches were teddy bear-shaped at a nursery school's special picnic.
Youngsters at Leapfrog Day Nursery in St Andrew's Ridge made their own lunch and got to choose their own fillings for the teddy bears picnic yesterday.
The event was organised to celebrate National Sandwich Week.
The children, aged three to five, learned about different types of bread, such as pita and baguettes, and talked about their favourite fillings.
They were also finding out about the importance of healthy eating.
Samantha New, pre-school base room manager, said she had never known the youngsters so quiet as they concentrated on making teddy bear bags to put their picnic food in.
They also brought in their own teddy bears for the day to join in the fun.
"They thoroughly enjoyed it," said Samantha.
