SWINDON snooker fans are gearing up to take on their idol Jimmy White when he puts on an exhibition at the 147 Club on Friday night.
Forty-eight-year-old White is unlikely to be beaten on the night and most of the players luckily enough to have been selected to play him will just be happy to pot a few balls.
Ross Corfield said: “I’ve always been a huge fan of Jimmy White growing up. He was one of the few players that inspired me to start playing.
“It’s going to be such an honour to finally play one of the all-time greats of the game.”
Craig Drury added: “It will be a great honour for me to play against Jimmy White because he is a legend.”
Alex Kimber said: “I can’t wait to play Jimmy on the night in front of a packed crowd. He is one of the greats that I grew up watching on the television. It’s going to be a great night and a great experience, I just wonder how many shots I will get!”
Phil Dibb is coming down from Leeds for the night and said: “I’m really looking forward to it I just hope I can hold my nerve and pot a few balls.”
There are still a few tickets available for the night, contact the club on 01793 531506 for details.
