THE Wiltshire Women’s National Fours will be an all-Box affair after local clubs failed to reached the final of the competition.

Three Box quartets were entered into the initial competition with two of those reaching the last eight.

In the top half of the draw, Ann Hayward’s rink from Westlecot beat Joyce Lewis’ Wroughton quartet 23-10, but then lost in the semi-finals by three shots to the Box rink and defending county fours champions skipped by Carol Grenfell. Grenfell & Co had previously accounted for Bev Williamson’s rink from Wootton Bassett 21-16.

In the bottom half of the draw, the powerful Box rink skipped by Alex Jacobs, champions in 2008 and beaten finalists last season, beat Chippenham Town 22-16.

Then in the semi-finals they comfortably overcame Lesley Russell (Devizes) 26-17 to set up an all Box showdown and repeat of last season’s final.
