PROFESSIONAL darts player Wayne Mardle, known to many as “Hawaii 501”, will be supporting Danny Wilson’s Town at Ladbrokes’ West Swindon branch.
Mardle will be placing a £100 bet on Swindon to beat Millwall in the play-off final, which, should he be successful. will see him win £300 for his chosen charity.
He will also be challenging local darts enthusiasts to ‘beat the bully’ between 12 noon and 1.30pm at the shop.
Jackie Wilkinson, public relations manager of Ladbrokes said: “Everyone is welcome to take up the bully challenge, I’m hoping for a good turnout.”
All successful candidates who get closer to the bullseye than Mardle will be entered into a draw for a £100’ sworth of Ladbrokes free bets.
Gary Selby, manager of the West Swindon branch, is very excited at the prospect of meeting a darts legend.
Selby and his shop team will all be wearing Hawaiian shirts to make the Cockney feel at home.
Thirty-seven-year-old Mardle, who is also a keen poker player, was eager to select the play-off final as his choice of charity bet.
The veteran thrower believes, like all of Swindon’s supporters, that Town are a good bet to be playing in the Championship next season.
