THREE members of Swindon Ice Figure Club competed in the Rooster Cup in Paris recently and Isabella Larkin achieved a top 10 finish.

The 13-year-old finished seventh in the novice B competition in spite of cutting her hand in the warm-up for the short programme, which hampered her performance.

The long programme was much better as Larkin, who placed fifth and ninth in recent overseas competitions in Slovenia and Italy recently, pulled herself up two places to finish seventh out of 26 skaters with 78.19 points.

In her second international, 13-year-old Carmen Lee skated her short programme well in the novice B class, although the long did not go quite as well as hoped.

Neverthelesss, she still managed a personal best of 65.82 points, putting her 17th.

Vicky Jackson, 14, also took part in the French capital, making it through her short programme in the novice A competition without any falls.

Despite forgetting part of her long programme temporarily, she managed to execute the last elements to finish on time.

This put her on a very respectable 61.81 points, placing her 13th overall.

Half a dozen British skaters competed in Paris against competitors from 15 countries around Europe.
