SWINDON rhythmic gymnast Jade Faulkner will compete in the Olympics after all after the Great Britain team won their appeal against the sport’s governing body.
An independent arbitrator published a verdict this morning after a hearing took place in London last Wednesday, after the team missed a target score set by British Gymnastics in January to prove they could compete at the Games.
The team missed the mark on the Monday and Tuesday of the event, but eventually hit it on Wednesday, but the arbitrator was "not persuaded" British Gymnastics' criteria had been made clear to the team of teenagers before the test event.
British Gymnastics have now stated they will nominate a team for the Olympics, and the British Olympic Association has now confirmed a British team will go to the Olympics.
