THE only local first team competing at the weekend was Swindon ladies, who ended their campaign with a goalless draw at home to Exe 2nds.
That result ensured Swindon finished at the bottom of Premier Division 1 of the West Clubs Women’s Hockey League.
Meanwhile, Swindon under 10 boys represented Wiltshire in the South West Championships at Millfield School in Somerset.
Swindon opened by playing out a 0-0 draw with reigning champions Avalon.
After missing the chance to take the lead against Gloucester, the Wiltshire side found themselves 2-0 down. Swindon pulled one back but could not find an equaliser.
In their first supplementary match, Swindon overwhelmed Penzance 3-0 before then edging out Bournemouth 1-0.
