GEORGIA Clements will compete at international level for the first time on Monday on one of the biggest stages in trampolining.

The 15-year-old Greendown student travels to Russia on Sunday ahead of her international debut for Team GB at the 23rd European DMT Championships.

Clements is one of a team of four in the double mini-tramp junior girls section and the championships takes palce from Monday till Friday.

In getting to the championships, Clements has had to balance the hard rigours of training with the equally tough demands placed on her by her schoolwork, as she is studying for her GCSEs this summer.

The teenager travels to Bracknell five times a week to train as well as attending school and completing coursework and revision.

She said: “I’d like to say a massive thank you to Greendown for supporting me and allowing me time out to compete in competitions throughout my five years at the school.

“Without the school’s support I would not be where I am today.”

Georgia’s mum Donna says that while the competition will be a big test, she believes her daughter will more than hold her own in Russia.

“This competition is by far Georgia’s biggest challenge, being her first international competition representing Great Britain,” said Donna.

“I am sure she will rise to the occasion and perform to the best of her ability.”
