NICKY Henderson started off Friday at Aintree in the best possible fashion.
The Lambourn handler's charge Darlan, the 9-4 favourite piloted by AP McCoy, and Captain Conan completed a one-two in the grade two Tangle Teaser Top Novices' Hurdle.
Meanwhile, Henderson's horse Finian's Rainbow cantered to victory in the feature race of the day, winning the grade one John Smith's Melling Chase by seven lengths.
