DAVID Howell failed to make the cut at the Made In Denmark tournament after dropping three shots in his last five holes.
A disastorous first round on Thursday saw the 39-year-old start his second round five over par for the tournament. However it briefly looked as if Howell could make the weekend after an error free first 13 holes, featuring three birdies.
Then at the 14th Howell carded a double bogey to go from two over back to four over for the tournament. Though, with three over the cut off for progression to the weekend the Broome Manor ace still had time to find a birdie.
Pars through 15, 16 and 17 meant Howell still retained a shot at making the cut on the final hole, but another bogey ensured his tournament came to a premature end.
Having showed such fine form at The Open last month Howell will no doubt be disappointed by his performance at Himmerland.
The next opportunity for Howell comes at the Czech Masters in Prague next week.
