WEST Swindon golfer Jean Gee has been made an honorary life member at Broome Manor in recognition of her devotion to the club, writes Ernie Newell.
Gee, pictured right, has been a great stalwart of the Swindon municipal for more than 20 years and is a long-serving member of the committee.
She has been women's captain five times and is currently the club's county representative.
Her husband, Peter, is a member at Ogbourne Downs.
Club secretary Colin Beresford said: "Jean is always ready and willing to help in the organisation of all sorts of events, especially the social aspects of the club, and organises all the women's senior competitions.
Club professional Barry Sandry also paid tribute to Gee.
"She's done a lot for the club and deserves the award," said the six-times Hills Wiltshire professional champion.
"She helps me with our Hills Junior Open, Wee Wonders and Evergreen tournaments and has even been known to arrange her holidays around the events."
