PUMAS went five points clear in Under 14 South One with a 3-2 win over Haringey Greyhounds at Alexandra Palace.
The win extended their unbeaten run to 12 and left them on course to win the section and a place in the play-offs.
Yet they made it hard work against a side who had leaked an average of five goals per game this season.
Swindon made a dream start when Jack O'Donnell scored after 17 seconds after good work by Sam Godfrey, then added a second with Jordan Smith and Josh Dolphin assisting.
A fractious game led to players from both sides having a rest in the penalty box, allowing Greyhounds to steal a goal back.
Pumas continued to dominate in the second period but were stunned by an equaliser before a flurry of activity around the Haringey net saw O'Donnell and Nyle Clinton set up Floyd Taylor for the winner.
Pumas scorers: O'Donnell 2goals + 0assists; F Taylor 1+0; Smith, Dolphin and Clinton all 0+1.
Period scores: 1-2; 1-1.
- LEOPARDS completed a double over Haringey after a 2-0 victory over a tough Whippets side to go third in the Under 16 South One table.
Leopards dominated but, with several players from the under 14 Pumas playing, tired later.
Swindon took the initiative from the outset but were denied by outstanding netminding from Haringey Whippets keeper James Tipple who denied them on numerous occasions.
Eventually, in the ninth minute John Spence finished good work by Jack O'Donnell.
Michael Whillock netted at the start of the second session, but Tipple prevented further goals.
Leopards scorers: Whillock and Spence 1+0; O'Donnell 0+1.
Period scores: 0-1; 0-1; 0-0.
Shots on goal: Whippets 9; Leopards 33.
