WILDCATS got their EPL play-off push back on track with a much needed victory at fellow strugglers Telford Tigers this evening.
It was an all-Canadian affair for Cats, as top scorer Joel Petkoff and centre John Wheaton combined to give the visitors an impressive 4-2 win.
Tigers started the brighter however, and they took the lead at 13.20 thanks to former Wildcat Marek Hornak.
Wheaton levelled the game at 1-1 when he struck with the clock at 19.10 as Cats finished the first period on top.
A brace from Petkoff and a second of the night for Hornak gave Cats a slender 3-2 advantage heading into the third and final period.
It was Petkoff who stole the headlines again as he completed his hat-trick to seal a crucial away win for the Swindon side.
With bottom club Wightlink Raiders due at the Link Centre tomorrow evening, Cats' coach Peter Russell will be eyeing a rare double.
