Two goals in the last 13 seconds from Joel Petkoff and fellow Canadian John Wheaton gave Swindon Wildcats a hard-fought 7-5 home win over bottom club Wightlink Raiders tonight.
It completed a remarkable recovery for the Cats as they had trailed bottom side Wightlink 3-1 at the first interval.
However, four goals in the second and the two late strikes ensured another exciting finish for Wildcats fans and another victory to cheer.
The win gave Swindon back-to-back victories following their 4-2 success in Telford 24 hours earlier.
But more importantly it was four badly needed points to enhance their chances of gaining a place in the end of season play-offs.
Import Petkoff was the star of the show once again with another man-of-the-match performance.
Swindon's leading scorer followed his three goals in Telford the night before with another hat-trick to turn the tide in Wildcats' favour.
Wightlink certainly had the better of the early exchanges in the last period and pulled level on the powerplay at 54.28 through import Robert Frank.
Robin Davison and Petkoff plus Matty Davies all then went close but as overtime loomed a stunning finish to the game saw Swindon snatch victory.
Petkoff's shot on goal at 59.47 appeared to be helped into the net by Raiders' defender Andy Shurmer and, eight seconds later, Swindon struck again as Wheaton netted an empty net goal as Raiders pulled netminder in a desperate attempt to force overtime.
