SWINDON players scooped top awards at ice hockey's recent Junior Conference Championships staged in Hull.
Under 12 Jaguars player Floyd Taylor was given the accolade of MVP the tournament's most valuable player and best player in his Under 11 age group.
This is a massive achievment as the tournament comprises of all the best players in the country from the ages of 10 to 17 years, and includes all the England players.
Floyd had a brilliant tournament on the same forward line as Guildford's Brendan Perlini and Jesse Lye.
Taylor and Perlini were the dynamic duo netting seven goals between them.
Under 14 Pumas player James Griffin was also picked for the dream team and was awarded top accolade of the most valuable player in the Under 13 age group.
Swindon players that helped the U11s and U17s South West teams to become Conference Champions 2006 were, Under 11s: Floyd Taylor, Nyle Clinton, Stephen Thrower, Josh Bonello, Sagee abu-ebid, Christopher Beal, Cameron Thompson Under 17s: former players James Francis, Aaron Nell, Tom Mills, Stephen Breisner, Jamie Line.
n TWO third places were secured by Swindon Junior Club teams in the English Championship play-offs.
The Under 14 Pumas side lost narrowly in the semi-finals to Sheffield 3-2 but gained some consolation by beating fellow losing semi finallist Milton Keynes 4-2 in the third and fourth place play-off.
Nottingham took the honours in this age group with a 3-0 win over Sheffield.
And in the Under 12 section it was a similar story for the Swindon Jaguars.
They went down 6-2 in their semi-final to Nottingham but beat the other losing semi finallist Romford 7-5 to take third spot overall.
Nottingham went onto to take the title by the odd goal in five over Sheffield.
- SWINDON Junior Ice Hockey Club will be staging their annual three-day Under 12 international tournament this coming weekend over the bank holiday period.
Ten teams from six different countries will be taking part.
