SWINDON Wildcats coach Ryan Aldridge hailed his side after notching a fourth consecutive victory, but warned them not to get complacent.

Aldridge’s side turned over third-placed Sheffield Steeldogs 4-2 on the road to see them a through a gruelling weekend consisting of three games in as many days in style.

Cats saw off MK Lightning 6-5 on Friday night at the Link Centre before notching another victory on the road against Slough Jets by a 4-2 scoreline.

And last night’s result was simply the icing on the cake for a delighted Aldridge.

“Everything is clicking for us at the moment, just like we said it would a few weeks back,” Aldridge told the Advertiser.

“The boys are confident right now and playing with confidence.

“We don’t mind who we face because we know we can give anyone a game.

“We must stay focused though.

“It is a fantastic run of form and to notch another maximum weekend is fantastic.

“Teams won’t want to face us in the play-offs but we have to keep this form going.

“The team is tired now after three games in three days but we’ll get some rest in and be ready for next week.”

Last night’s game was tied at 2-2 going into the final period before Jonas Hoog scored the goal to put Cats into the lead.

Paul Swindlehurst and Aaron Nell hit Swindon’s other goals.

Cats held that lead until late on forcing Sheffield to pull their netminder only for Hoog to add another into the empty net.

On target for Swindon in Saturday’s win at Slough was Aaron Nell (2), Nicky Watt and Paul Swindlehurst.

Aldridge added: “The first line is firing at the moment but so is the second line.

“All the guys are gelling and thinking about the team.

“So long as we do that and play a solid defence then we should keep this run going.”
