A LATE converted Johnny Parker try saw Swindon continue their run of impressive form with a 17-12 win against Buckingham at Greenbridge Road.

After a spell of sustained pressure, Swindon finally got their reward when Parker touched down, with Adam Westall converting, to give their side the victory over third-placed Buckingham.

The home side started the game positively and were on the offensive straight from kick-off.

They put Buckingham under a lot of pressure in the opening minutes and took a 3-0 lead through a Westall penalty.

Although Swindon continued to pressure, they were unable to turn their dominance into points due to some forced errors and good Buckingham defence.

The visitors always looked dangerous when they had the chance to attack, and they took their opportunities well, the first coming when they outstripped the Swindon defence for a converted try.

Soon after, they also managed to capitalise with their second score of the afternoon to take a 12-3 advantage.

With it all to do, Swindon kept up the pressure and started to grow in confidence.

Good set piece play meant they were always going to have plenty of first phase possession, and the back row of Parker, Daniels and Lowe were competitive in and around the contact area.

Just before half-time, fly half Westall managed to spot a gap in the Buckingham defence and scored an excellent individual try, which he also converted, to close the gap to two points.

The final 20 minutes saw Swindon encamped in the Buckingham half, and eventually Parker went over, with Westhall's trusty boot kicking the extra, to seal a deserved victory for the home side.
