WOOTTON Bassett minis travelled to Bath RFC for a triangular fixture, also featuring Nailsea and Backwell.
The Under 7s went down by seven tries to four against Bath Blues and lost 6-5 against Bath Yellows and 7-6 against Bath Reds.
Bassett's efforts were rewarded with a closing 7-7 draw against Nailsea, including a first competitive try for Cowling and a clinically finished hat-trick for Bethany Palfrey.
Jenkins (2), Webber (4), Clarke (2), Stacey (2), Palfrey (4), MacLean (3), Meredith (2), Williams, Barton and Cowling all scored tries on the day.
The under 8s were beaten 14-10 by Bath in their opener.
In game two, Bassett squeezed an 8-8 draw with the last play of the game against Nailsea.
In the final game they exacted revenge by beating Bath 6-4. Player of the week was Joe Tindall.
The Under 9s had a mixed day, fielding two teams with the Lions going down to Bath A 5-1 and the Tigers going down to Bath B 6-0.
The Lions then drew 1-1 with Bath B before losing 3-0 to Nailsea in the final match.
The Tigers lost 4-1 to Nailsea and 5-0 to Bath A. Tries came from Jefferies, Lenton-Jinks and Mutton.
In three matches the Under 10s won one, lost one and drew one.
The first fixture against Nailsea was a 3-3 draw, but they went down heavily to a Bath A team.
The final game saw Bassett overpower a Bath team to win 6-3.
Bassett man of the match was Barnaby Smeddle.
A late try condemned the Under 11s to a 2-1 defeat to Bath, Sam Clarke scoring a push over consolation. The new-look side then lost 1-0 to Nailsea.
The Under 12s also went down to Bath, losing 4-0 and 6-1, with Rees scoring a consolation try.
However they faired much better against Nailsea, Harry Rees and Brandon Dawes scoring tries in the victory.
- SWINDON Under 10s were relentless in games against Grove and Bradford on Avon.
The opening clash with Grove finished nine tries to nil, including a contender for try of the season when the ball was passed through the hands of every Swindon player. Daniel Uzzell (2), Tom Codling (2), Christian Wood, Jack Gibion, Joe Jenkins, Luke Uzzell and Owain Hire scored the tries.
The second match against the same opponents finished 7-0 with Daniel Uzzell (2), Luke Uzzell (2), Gibion, Hire and Codling all scoring.
Christian Wood was named man of the matches.
The team were given a tougher time in their opener with hosts Bradford, eventually winning 4-3.
Swindon had driven Bradford deep into their own half and had turned-over the ball, when suddenly Bradford ripped the ball from Swindon and a player ran the length of the pitch to score the opening try.
Swindon responded immediately through Codling, who added another before half-time. After the break Bradford scored almost immediately and another exciting period of play commenced, Codling scoring again and then Bradford ran in the last try before the final whistle.
Fired up by their first match Swindon tore into this Bradford second-string like tigers, winning 9-0.
Swindon's try scorers were Luke Uzzel (4), Hire (2), Wood, Gibion and Codling.
Men of the Matches were Daniel Uzzel, Jack Gibion, Luke Uzzel.
