ROBINS boss Alun Rossiter is confident his side can make big strides towards the Elite League play-offs this week as they prepare for home and away meetings with Eastbourne.
The Blunsdon side jumped ahead of the Eagles following their home win over Lakeside on Thursday, but have raced more meetings than the Hammers, Eagles and Coventry as four teams battle for the two realistically remaining play-off spots.
Rossiter takes his side to Arlington tonight hoping for Simon Gustafsson to repeat his stunning form from the Robins’ previous visit this season, where he scored 15, with Rossiter confident of picking up points from a dominant home outfit.
“We go there with a full strength team, with riders who all like the track, so we should be full of confidence of getting something,” he said.
“Simon got his season going last time we went there so he should be full of confidence, we’re building up for the play-offs and I have confidence we will be there.
“I know we’ll be there, it’s just everybody else having a downer on it. I’m very confident, we’ll be in the play-offs 100 per cent.”
Rossiter was pleased to see Nathan Greaves enjoy his best meeting in the Elite League as he scored 6+2 against Lakeside on Thursday, but insisted the youngster needs to take on more advice if he is to continue his rise to the top.
“He’s still learning and has a lot to learn, but if he listens a bit more and takes a bit more on board then he’ll improve.
“Sometimes if you tell him to do something he does the complete opposite, but if you tell Steve Worrall to do something then he does it.
“Nathan just needs to learn and listen a little more.”
