ROBINS' two reserves Adrian Miedzinski and Sebastian Alden are through to the World Under 21 semi-finals.

Both were in sparkingly form in their respective quarter-finals at Sheffield and Holsted over the weekend.

Despite never having seen the Sheffield track before, Miedzinski scored 13 points in the 20 heat qualifier to finish in second place behind Australian Chris Holder.

He was second in heats two and six behind Aussie riders Troy Batchelor and Chris Holder but reeled off three successive wins in races nine, 16 and 19 to book a place in the next round.

However, in the grand final Miedzinski was only third.

Alden went a point and a place better, topping the Nordic qualifier staged at Holsted, Denmark, with 14 points from his five rides.

He beat both Fredrik Lindgren and Henrik Moller in heat 10, but dropped his only point to Poole's Grand Prix and fellow Swede Antonio Lindback.

Alden also reeled off race wins in heats two, five and 15 to take the No 1 qualifier spot.

However, in the grand final featuring Lindgren, Moller and Lindback, the Swindon Robins rider finished a surprise last.
