ROBINS' reserve flyer Adrian Miedzinski has been ruled out of tonight's Sky Sport Elite League clash with Wolverhampton Wolves.

The 21-year-old Polish rider has taken to his sickbed, robbing him of the chance to add another spectacular display to his red-hot recent form.

Miedzinski may well have been missing due to a Polish Under-21 Team Championship event at Rzeszow anyway, but his absence deprives the Pebley Beach-backed Robins' chief Alun Rossiter of a trump card against the Wolves.

The Torun-born ace roared to paid 12 points during the thumping victory against champions Coventry Bees last Thursday.

That followed his nine-point contribution to the 56-38 thrashing of Oxford Cheetahs the week before and the stunning paid 13 during the 55-41 romp at Eastbourne late last month.

Miedzinski also sustained some internal bleeding after a fall during his World Under 21 quarter-final in Sheffield on Sunday, from which he qualified for the semi-finals.

Rossiter instead turns to Mildenhall rider James Brundle, in the absence of regular No 8 Ritchie Hawkins, who is riding for his Premier League club Workington.

Rossiter said: "Adrian has a fever and a bit of internal bleeding after his fall, so he was advised to take a rest and has gone home.

"It's disappointing for us because he has been really on the gas.

"Also, we have been really limited on who we can bring in because of league rules that say we can only bring in a Premier League rider with up to a six-point average, not a No 8 rider from somebody else or who is attached to another Elite League club.'' Wolves were denied a second away win of the season last night when their meeting at Oxford the scene of that one road triumph was postponed because of rain.

William Lawson will step in at reserve at Blunsdon, with Ben Wilson in action for his Premier League club Sheffield.

Ronnie Correy meanwhile, faces the team for whom he started the season, as a short-term replacement for Renat Gafurov.

Robins saw off the Wolves by 10 points at home in March and Rossiter added: "We're still very positive about this meeting.

"We covered for the missing Gafurov last time out and I think we have got enough in the engine room, although we do seem to have trouble with Wolves now and then.''
