IT seems all-but certain that the days of Mads Korneliussen and Morten Risager at Swindon are numbered.
Although Robins boss Ronnie Russell refused to confirm those names after he revealed that two riders would be leaving, anything else would be a huge surprise given their disappointing starts to the season.
Korneliussen has been let down by huge inconsistency in the opening two months, and his three falls against Poole and Coventry have not exactly helped.
Meanwhile, Risager, a trump card for Swindon at the back end of last season, has struggled to get going at all and seems to have buckled under the wave of criticism.
Russell indicated that certain riders had to up their efforts pretty quickly following the defeat to Coventry, and in that regard you have to feel sorry for the pair that it was Poole that were next up.
The runaway Elite League leaders looked a formidable unit last night in their 52-44 win and for the Danes to have scored well from two and three would have been quite some effort.
As for Poole, what can you say? It seems that only an injury crisis of titanic proportions or a catastrophic loss of form for several riders can prevent them from winning the Elite League title.
What a terrific signing the young Pole Artur Mroczka looked last night as he romped his way to paid 13.
It is arguable that he would not have secured such a big haul had Thomas H. Jonasson been available for the Robins, but it was a highly impressive score nonetheless.
On the subject of Jonasson, he returns from his ban for the trip to Belle Vue on Monday. How Swindon need him.
