JASON Doyle says he is ‘100 per cent fit’ for the upcoming Elite League season and has put his injury problems behind him.

The 26-year-old has been plagued by shoulder problems in recent times and although he played a pivotal role in Poole winning a league and cup double last season, was not present in the play-offs or either leg of the Knockout Cup final.

But the New South Wales charger is confident that following surgery during the winter, he is physically back to full strength.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better team last year, but I was a bit unlucky with injuries at the end of the season,” he said.

“Winning the league was something that I wanted to do in my career and I’m glad I could do it with Poole, although it was a shame I couldn’t ride the finals.

“I went to the right surgeon to fix my arm up and now I’m 100 per cent fit and ready for the start of the season.

“Normally I’ve been worried about my shoulder and other things, but now I know that my arm’s right, so it will make it a lot easier.”

Having arrived in the UK after solving drawn-out visa issues, Doyle is frantically completing his preparations for the upcoming campaign, and is confident it will be a successful one.

“We’re pretty strong all the way through, so hopefully we can do a lot better than last year’s team,” he added.

“Everyone’s got faith in Rosco (Alun Rossiter, manager), I don’t think he’s put a team together that hasn’t been up at the top.

“Hopefully we can live up to everyone’s expectations in Swindon and not let them down.”
